Christian Life - The Seven Steps of Applying the Christian Way of Life

The Green Christian Way of Life exists for houston christian church Christian believers who value the message of the Christian faith as well as the need to care for God's creation in all of its forms. The Green Christian way of life is an exhortation for more deep personal engagement and shared encouragement among believers. Followers of this way are often called upon when they witness to others in the Christian community that has been scarred by evil. Those who follow the Christian way of life live as if their lives are guided by God himself.

One might think that the basic elements of this Christian way of life would be found in any religion practiced by members of the Abrahamic faiths. This is where many of those who follow Christ end up. The common thread which binds believers of all religions, is the call to imitate the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

In his Sermon on the Mount of Transfiguration, Christ described his followers as being like trees with hollows within them. He said that by observing the commandments of the Lord they would one day have the desire of the Father, and be filled with the Spirit. In this description of the Christian way of life, the Holy Spirit is seen as a personage or Spirit. Through the obedient service of this Holy Spirit, humans will come to know the righteous truth about themselves.

In The Christian Way of Life, Dr. Maxwell Maltz describes the seven steps of imitation as the first of the five techniques of spiritual growth which will lead a person to God. He said these first steps are more important than the others. These first five techniques are:

The Christian way of life consists of following the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this manner, a person becomes a part of the divine presence through faith and works. The second step of the spiritual life is called asceticism, which consists in renouncing the things of life for the sake of following Christ. In this way, people become spiritual and regenerate.

Following the example of Christ means that a person can imitate him in doing good and avoiding evil. By doing good he does not thwart the will of God, and by avoiding evil he can submit to God's rule. Following the Christian way of life also includes abstaining from the things of darkness. Darkness has been a major cause for death and evil. By living in light we are able to walk in the footsteps of our Saviour.
